bobbymack Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Here is a great sounding powered mixer, with hard case. Ask HHB if ya don't believe me... We've used this for the past year plus, and never looked back at the Mackie 808S it replaced. 500W x 2 stereo outs, 2 banks of really good digital effects. We are upgrading to the new Yamaha $550 price drop shipped in lower 48 including road case Yamaha EMX-5000/12 powered mixer Features The Yamaha EMX5000/12 offers a comprehensive range of features in a compact package. The mixer section has eight mono mic/line channels plus two stereo line-level channels. Each channel has signal/peak level LEDs showing the input level which is variable wit the gain control. There are two pre-/post-fade auxiliary sends with master faders plus two dedicated post-fade effects sends linked to two internal high-quality SPX-series digital effects units also with master faders. The two internal amplifiers can be set to drive either a mono or stereo Front Of House mix, a mono mix plus one Aux (monitor) mix, or two monitor mixes. In the last case the master output can be sent to an external power amplifier to drive larger systems, such as our 2kW Logic System. Specifications Maximum Output Power @0.5% THD at 1kHz 500W+500W/4ohms 325W+325W/8ohms 1000W/8ohms bridge
DavidE Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I know I'm going to regret passing on this, but I can't figure out why I'd need it. I have a mixer and power amp that I've never used. Watch, I'll need this in 2 months.Somebody buy this! These things are great and nice price with the case!
edgar_allan_poe Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 The case on this bad boy ran us close to $200. We use this mixer in our acoustic show and it is fantastic. Great effects and *clean* power. Match this with a pair of Turbosound speakers and you can do almost any show. We played the Steeler games with this setup.
mattb Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Wish I had the extra coin. Would like to drop my Behringer and Poweramp and get this.
bobbymack Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 Thanks for the comments fellas. This is an HFC approved item...HHB hipped me to it, I hipped Poe to it (and the Turbos!), and everybody is happy. In fact, it was another HFCer that hipped me to the Turbos now that I think of it...great speakers. Anyway Poe is correct, I think I paid about $175 for the road case, but it fits perfect and we just remove the top, prop the mixer up on the back edge a little bit, and we're off. I'll consider any reasonable offers cuz I'm not positive how to price this, but I can assure you there are zero issues, it's always stored in its case, sounds killer, and is worth this $ and then some compared to what is out there...
Eric Weston Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Price drop to $550... I LOVE my EMX 2000, it's portable and loud and sounds GREAT, I just used it at a medium size room(200-300 person cap.) last weekend and it slayed.....PLENTY o' volume and clarity. I'm very tempted to snap this up so I can just leave my smaller one hooked up at home....hmmmm.SOMEBODY BUY THIS (before I piss off my wife)
