blackfbiv Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 I think the Duotone is the perfect idea for a guitar. Best of both worlds. And after listening to Brooks mp3's and a decent 'real world' demo, I am sold. That being stated, I'd like to apologize now for the inevitable Duotone price increases. It seems that when I think about purchasing something, the prices will increase geometrically until I purchase it, wherupon the market will undoubtedly fail. (might as well apologize for the crash now too). Funny how I have seen post after post about Duotones since my intial thoughts. WTH? I've tried reverse 'psychology' to no avail. About 2 years ago I opened a US dollar bank account...watched your currency tank internationally ever since. Sorry... Dion
silentman Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Duo's kick booty. I was selling mine 6 months ago, then I reconsidered. A 3-hole in moderate condition should bottom out at $650-ish and up from there. Color can influence prices as well. There seem to be plenty of naturals and 59 bursts around. Less cherry, gold, black, green. F-hole customs > $1000 or so.
Caddie Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 You are going to be very pleased with a Duotone. Its a wonderful instrument. I'm partial to the newer USA models with the f-hole, carved top, & new piezo bridge. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with the originals with 3-holes, flat top & old piezo bridge. Its all just personal taste and the differences between the older style and the newer style are minimal when it comes to performance and quality of the guitar (IMHO).You'll be very happy with it. Enjoy. Post some jpegs when you finally acquire one.Noonan
tomteriffic Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Anybody have a feel for sonic differences between the old piezo and new piezo systems?
