Lockbody Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 What better way to celebrate my 1000th post on the Hamer Fan Club than with a with a new Hamer? It's a '93 Diablo That's a little different than most in that it has an ebony fretboard. Along with the 25.5" scale, the notes seem to jump off the board before I play them. Very snappy response. Love it for the fact that, like my old Cali., the nut only screws into the neck instead of having two bolts all the way through it. The pickups aren't my preference in this guitar but that'll be easy enough to change. A damn shame it sold for $299 even with that ding on the bottom edge.
atquinn Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Cool! The sibling to my Diablo II. What pickups are in yours?-Austin
Lockbody Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 It's got a PATB-1 in the bridge and a '59 in the neck.I really liked the PATB-1 in my mahogany Cali, but it's not working for me in this one. The '59 I like tonal-wise, it just needs to be all black in this guitar. Waiting to hear from a HFC'er with a remedy to my problem.
Steve Haynie Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 A damn shame it sold for $299 even with that ding on the bottom edge. I doubt you are complaining!

My wife walked into the room right before I hit the BIN, looked at the screen and said "Man, that is a good price.".
KH Guitar Freak Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Congrats!!! Atquinn, that Diablo II has not been given a new home yet??? I might be interested in the distant future...
