TheLad Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Hi all,Well, my good friend has asked me to help him sell his '94 Hamer B12S in trans purple, flame maple top and back, maple body, rosewood fretboard, with HSC, (serial number 439656) which now has the new passive Phat Cats that just came off my new white B12M from Greg at BCR. The Phat Cats blow away those cold, sterile, no character EMG's that bass once had. The Cats have given this B12s a warmer, more organic, and musical sound. The case is not the original Hamer case, but a new unknown brand black HSC which is quite nice. The only flaws I can see is the small holes in the back where the previous owner once relocated the strap buttons to for an attempted better balance (which didn't work), but the strap buttons are back in the original spots. The holes are only two small screw holes which cannot be seen unless upon turning over the bass for close scrutiny. Otherwise, the bass is clean, and has been recently serviced, and has a new Waterstone 12ver string set on. I played this bass in my band's new live video which can be seen on our myspace.com/londonegg link or on youtube.com and search, London Egg. The bass has the old style Hamer headstock logo which is in larger lettering than the new Hamers. I have some pics, but unfortunately didn't have a cool digital camera like Greg at BCR. I used my primitive PC cam. The pics don't do this sweet bass much justice. My friend wants $1,200 firm for the B12S. They go new for about $2,200, I believe, without the Phat Cat custom order charge. This bass is well worth the low price, especially since these B12S models are not so common to find quickly on the used market, especially at this price. I recently saw a USED white B12S online (after searching endlessly for quite some time) at a store for $2,295! Highway robbery! I can vouch for this little bass since I have played it live twice with my band. Thanks for the interest, Hamer heads! ;-)Cheers,TheLadRobes 212-874-2040P.S. cmatthes Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 What will he take for the PhatCats?!You don't need permission from an administrator to post pics - you need to link a host site, like photobucket.Sounds like a groovy, freakin' bass! Nice price too.
