tommy p Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 I hope this isn't a taboo question, but does anybody have a source for NOS parts? Most importantly, I need a white checkerboard logo headstock decal for my guitar that's being refinished. I wonder if decals are hard to find for fear of someone trying to counterfeit. If I can at least get a really clear jpg or bmp of the decal, there's a shop in my town that can duplicate it.Thanks for any help you can provide.
tommy p Posted November 25, 2007 Author Posted November 25, 2007 Some of you will cry over the way the previous owner hacked with the electronics, but rest assured they will be returned to original configuration. In person, the top is awesome looking. Unfortunately, it will not be a see through finish.
cmatthes Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Hamer won't release logos for non-factory work, and they ran out of the remaining checkerboard logos 10 years or so ago. The Hamer logos are dry-transfer stock, like Letraset. Most of the aftermarket decals I've seen have been fairly poor quality, unfortunately. If you're doing a light-colored headstock face, you could use the black Letraset letters - I may even have a few in the correct size/font. I've seen some people have signmakers do ultrathin vinyl with great results too.

The sign guy I talked to said the best he could do is exactly what you've said: a thin vinyl logo, but he needs a really clear jpg or bmp of the logo and the exact size to do it. If anyone can help in that regard, I'll take it.
Thundernotes Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Here's a huge logo that he can probably work with:http://brandsoftheworld.com/search/?action=1&text=HamerIt's an .eps file which is scalable, if I remember correctly. That's what the vinyl guys used when I had my bands banner made.Good luck!
