marshal Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Just picked up a 1981 Gibson es 347, now this is the right size. Feels and sounds great.Does anyone else own one and what are your thoughts?Sal
Steve Haynie Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I have never even heard of that model. Tell us more about it.
cmatthes Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Those are GREAT guitars. Very cool. I almost fell for a black one about 10 years ago - a really well-done Gibson semi. They haven't hit the crazy price range yet, so still a decent score if you find one.
serial Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Always been my favorite Gibby semi-hollow. Makes a 335 look pedestrian appointments-wise. Very classy looking guitar. Been around since the mid-late 70s at least.

I do not know what pups are in it, they are original but man are they hot. they sound great. I just put a new set of strings on her and cleaned her up a bit. Mine is an 1981.
cmatthes Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Those came stock with a brass nut - at least from @ 78-81 or so.
