Special J Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 So I just recently booked a great gig opening for a national act that I actually like - Blind Melon. OK, so Shannon Hoon is dead, but the new guy is pretty good and I listened to them alot as a teenager. Also on the bill is my best friend's band (he's also a big BM fan). So it should be awesome right? Unfortunately, the booking agent at this club is a buddy of mine, who I've done business with for years, and he's been missing for over a week now. It seems he went down to one of the British Virgin Islands for a wedding, but disappeared before the ceremony. He has not been heard from since, and to my knowledge, he is already presumed dead. It's totally messed up. I guess they just found his Ipod on a beach, so they're thinking he went swimming and drowned or something, but the coast guard has yet to turn up with anything. He's a really cool guy, and I guess I'm holding on to the hope that he'll turn up, but it's not looking good. If any of you HFC'ers from the land of Hamers and high taxes wanna come out to the show, there'll be some great music, mixed emotions, and between me and my friend, a few Hamers on stage. Bee costumes optional.Friday, Feb. 29thThe Webster TheaterHartford, CT$16

Have a good show whether it's to celebrate finding him (hopefully) or in his honor.
