Hackubus Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 And rather enjoyed myself. OKC at the Ford Center. The band was awesome IMO. No fights or any silliness from the sampled keyboards. Wolfie was a very capable bassist. He was a little lacking in the Mr Entertainer mode, but he's a bass player so I'll give him a pass. DLR & EVH were very much ON I thought. Money well spent! I've been waiting since I was 14 yrs old to see these guys. On the way back, we had a flat about 5 miles from the house. 3AM, 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Two very large tractor weights in the pickup bed thanks to an ice storm the night previous. I said screw it, I'm not about to change a flat & get my fool ass self killed in the process. I ran down the very short list of people I thought would be up at 3AM to rescue my very pregnant wife & myself. I'm happy to say that my buddy Tate answered on the first ring. Thank goodness for Tater bug. Other than that little hiccup, a very good evening for the Hackubus & his bride. (and Hackubus Jr)
serial Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Very cool and glad to hear about the resolution. I was very pleasantly surprised by the show and had a great time-glad I got to see them in DC.
Guest pirateflynn Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I thought it was great, too!Glad things worked out w/ Tater-bug.
bamboohead Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Wife and I are going to see them next friday. Saw them with Hagar a couple years back from the stage pit. This year we are sitting in the lower bowl. Hope it doesn't sound like shit.... lower bowl..like shit....it's a joke!
BLuesBuster Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I've seen Van Halen in early December in Los Angeles (Staples Center). The show was great, both EVH and DLR were is rare form. That's what I would imagine their early 80's shows were like with no animosity, no agendas, just plain loud rock fun.
jettster Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Sounds cool, looking forward to seeing them in a few weeks.
