Feynman Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 The guy I mentioned months ago wanting a good inexpensive bass still hasn't purchased anything. This one on eBay looks cool to me, but I know nothing of pricing or model variances among Hamer basses.I'd appreciate any comments on it, including price.http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Hamer-Cruise-B...1QQcmdZViewItemThanks.
Steve Haynie Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I have been recording some music with a friend using my Cruisebass. It sounds wonderful going direct. Those original Cruisebasses have mahogany bodies and necks that give them their incredible sound. The bass in the auction looks to be in average shape for the basses from that time. The price is higher than what other Cruisebasses have reached in other auctions this year. If the color was rare it might make a difference, but that white is not uncommon.
Feynman Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 Thanks. It is a "BIN or best offer" kind of thing, so I would love to know what a normal price would be on one of these if I were to suggest an offer to my friend.
Thundernotes Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I paid $250 for one in similar condition a few months ago (which turned out to be a great bass - just "reliced". This white one seems priced kind of high. I wouldn't go more than $350 in that condition.
