I'm no newbie around here, but will be to the BBQ this year. The legend of the baked beans is one that I simply have to experience for myself! Looking forward to it, and hell I even have a Hamer or two I can bring along for the class photos.

Shit! Now I have to make those beans again. It's a 22-hour process and this gig is the only time I make them this way. I was thinking of just bringing down a mixed platter of barbecued (not grilled) chicken, beef brisket, and pork shoulder.

Any of those dates would be fine with Deb and me so far. I'll have to watch Deb's schedule though. She often has a booth for Northwest Hospital that she has to run for various community fairs around that time.

If the date chosen is Aug. 13, I've got a three hour layover at the Seattle airport from 1 to 4 p.m. tied to a business trip.

I can pack some fresh crawfish, alligator sauce piquante and Cajun andouille sausage in my carry-on luggage, should someone want to make a quick road trip to meet up, down a beer or seven in the terminal on my dime and spice up the BBQ for the rest of the gang later in the day.

So we have votes for the 13th and 27th.......

so it's between these two dates....

jeffr; Gig Harbor is at least 45 minutes from SeaTac, which would leave you very little time for gear geeking and bean eating. It would be very cool for you to make it, but any traffic or a long line at security and you'd likely miss your flight.

I vote the 27th! (unless we could combine it w/ my Moms birthday party? :) ).

I have to change my vote from the 27th to the 13th. I have a show at Panamonica's in Tacoma that night, but I should be able to hang out well into the early evening, and fatten up on beans and laughs.

84 what time is your gig on the 27th.... we usually get started pretty early.... and a few of us linger till the wee hours of the morning.... Just a thought...

then again the 6th is still open.... I'm booked for a gig on the 20th ah hell .....

Stop confusing me Man! Apparently the 27th we're in Butte or Helena or some damn thing. The 13th is the Tacoma gig which I suspect has a load-in of about 7pm or so, and since you're only about ten minutes from the rehearsal room I could likely hang around at least that long.

Side note: word is that we're going to be doing the opening slots for the WA, ID & MT dates for Roger Clyne (a long time buddy of Johnny's). Not sure of the Seattle venue yet, but should be a hell of a lot of fun. The dates are from 8/22 through 8/29, so when I have the details I'll let you know. Any HFC'ers in Butte or Boise?

I just did a head-count, and I'll be bringing 10 Hamers this year, a new personal best!

Leave a couple at home if it means a larger bucket of beans!

Crap, confusing my Hamer comrades, sorry. Bring 'em all!

So about Aug the 6th look like for everyone? ..... I'd like everyone to make it.....

I'm poised over the calender w/ a pen, Aug 6th looks good!  ????

I need to check and see if Deb is tied up with a health screening for NW Hosp that day. I think even if she is, I or both of us can make it but we might get there a bit later.

Well then let's shoot for the 6th......

Damnit now I have to double my efforts on the back yard.... hahahha

Posted
Can we fish the coi pond again this year???

Coi filleted with a nice butter and rosemary glaze served with angel hair pasta and sautéed yellow squash....

Or maybe some spotted owl steaks with a light ginger and white wine marinade....

I just checked with Deb. Aug 6th is good for us. Her dep't is running a booth at Lake City Days, but Deb doesn't have to go to it.

Yee-Haw. I'm looking forward to bringing some beans, mebbe some 'Q appetizers, and especially seeing Maddy Moe. I think I've downloaded every pic of her that you've posted.

And bringing all my Hamers won't compromise the quantity of beans I bring, as my Hamer count has remained at 3 since Oct. 2000.

I could bring a guitar case full of beans, but they'd get fuzzy.
