bobbymack Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Excellent playing and looking lightweight strat handpicked for me last year by Laun at Dave's Guitar Shop. Super resonant, sounds just great as evidenced by my lack of any mods other than straploks. A really, really good strat... Blonde, beautiful grained Ash body, 7.2 pounds, Special ordered lightly reliced with a 9.5 radius and medium jumbo frets. Neck profile is a fairly chunky 56/10 "Boat Neck" shape, the same as on the '56 CS "Time Machine" strats per Laun at Dave's...definitely more stout than '57s though not as big as the early '50s teles...... With center pocket tweed case, in as new (lightly relic'd) condition. These were $2499 + shipping from Dave's (dunno what they are now since the big Fender price bump), this primo / as new one is $SOLD PRICE DROP shipped and paypalled (e-check only) in the lower 48...at least 30% off street No trades Please Edited to correct neck profile info... Update: I spoke to Laun at Dave's, and these guitars actually have the "10/56" Boat neck carve...which in his words is a chunky, mild V shape neck...any way you slice it, it feels substantial and super comfy in the hand, and is rock solid and stable. Also I have had inquiries re: body & neck condition, lacquer checking, etc...The guitar is only lightly relic'd. so the vast majority of the body paint is intact and hasn't changed since I got the guitar. You can see ash grain ripples thru the lacquer because it is very very thin. There are two very small chips maybe 1/8" round on the bottom edge sort of near the strap lok, can't be seen from the top or rear views. The back of the neck is immaculate. The fretboard is the heaviest relic'd part of the guitar by far, but is very tasteful as is the case with all of the maple boards at Dave's...they have the CS do their own spec fretboard relic....
