kurtsstuff Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Have'nt had one for awhile and getting the itch....time to scratch it..Prefer standards but let me know whatchya got!!
Brownsound Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Dont have one for sale but do yourself a favor and get a Historic Reissue. Preferably an R7 Goldtop. I went through three Standards before deciding to go for the R7. They are built better and man do they sound great. I was finding the new standards to be too bright and brittle sounding. Its those Alnico Pro pickups that I cand deal with.

If you're going to do something like that, this is how you really do it then. Throw a pair of EMG 85 guitar pickups on there : Guitar George
kurtsstuff Posted July 3, 2005 Author Posted July 3, 2005 Hey George...sell me that guitar and you'll save me the trouble of the install...that's exactly what I was gonna do...hehe
tralfax19645 Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 Hi, I have a 78 Standard in the cherry sunburst, i know its not rare or anything, but i will sell internal organs before i sell this. Good luck on your search.I think the standards just have a 56 chevy cool about them. Rob
bobbymack Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 I have a real sweet R7 Goldie that I'm willing to sell... It's a '00, w/ RS electronics upgrade, bone nut, and WCR Goodwoods. Plays and sounds fantastic, formerly owned by Nashville pro Tom Bukovac (Faith Hill, Bekka Bramlett, etc etc). In played but VG shape cosmetically, EXC playability and tone. E-me if interested...
bobbymack Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 More details...It's not a darkback, but weighs only about 8 1/2 lbs. It has sort of a lightly relic'd thing happening appearance wise, some scratches, oxidation, faded binding, etc etc. Definitely not a mint collector's piece...but a GREAT player's guitar. BIG neck, though not the biggest R7 neck I've ever had, ohsc, etc...I'm thinking $1850 shipped, the pickups alone are $300/pr.
