serial Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 For sale or trade for something I can use, an April, 1966 Fender Jaguar, pro refin body by Curtis Novak (he even did the neck cavity the right way and preserved the markings). All parts are original vintage parts for this guitar other than the mute plunger (not pictured) which is a USVintage RI part (NOS). I haven't had this thing together in years, but BCR Greg metered the pickups and they're right where they need to be. Needs to be wired up and could use some wire under the hood, but I just don't have the time to slap this one together. That, and I have a killer 65 Jazzmaster that gets all of my offset jones off. VERY cool vintage guitar that can be had at less than half of what a straight original would go for. Jags are cool-assed guitars and if you've ever held a vintage Fender neck in your hands-that satiny feel just can't be beat. With original hardshell case with all functioning latches. Would be interested in hearing some trade offers-not sure about what I'd need for a straight cash sale-who knows in this economy-so I'd actually kinda prefer a trade or trade + cash. I have tons of pics, but for now, here are a couple...
Punkavenger Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 God I love that, butA. I've become too attached to my Blitz, Daytona, FM, Cruise etc. to let anything goB. I doubt anything I have is what you would want, anyway. Good luck! SFG is the best!
cmatthes Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 With the current AVRI prices up over $1,600 and the "Thin Skins" and others even higher, this could be a good deal for somebody. Kurt does some of the best "vintage accurate" refins out there, and is noted for his affinity for the offset beasts like Jags and JMs. The guy does some great pickup work too, btw... Wish I still had my '66 Jag!

serial Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Bump before I post this on another forum. My experience is that HFCers are usually tops to deal with, do I posted this here first. Thanks to all who have made trade offers, but I'm pretty set in the Hamer department other tran a Newport or something else with a Bigsby.
lockjawnight Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Chris that looks more like "Nags Head" Blue judging by the background. Both these guitars look great. No takers?Good luck on the sale/trade
serial Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 Bump because I've been asked to take some shots of the neck stamp. Anyone need to see anything else while I have it out?
cmatthes Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Chris that looks more like "Nags Head" Blue judging by the background. Both these guitars look great. Definitely some similarities to Nag's Head - that's actually in front of our beach house north of Bethany (DE). Nice having a wide open (private) beach where you can have a bonfire, drink, take goofy guitar pictures, etc... Steve - you should get a shot with the pickups in place - that might help, since it is a complete guitar. Wish I was in more of a "buy" mode these days...that's a cool one.
