mirrorimij Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Looks like an import Sunburst Archtop to me. "This is not a Gibson, but you would have a tough time telling from 10 feet (or even right up close if you are not a Gibson guy)."The clownburst might resemble a Gibson but you would have to be an idiot to really think thats a Gibson.
lockjawnight Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I'm having a tough time deciding if that's a Gibson. It isn't a Gibson? I thought for sure....well, I guess after all it can't be since Hamer was forced out of the Gibson copy market by high production costs and cheap Epiphone copies.... But if I were Jol I'd use this photo as a basis for a lawsuit against Gibson copying the Hamer headstock shape... Obviously....
mirrorimij Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 You almost have to admire the guys sales and marketing attempt. It's "improved"- not a bastardized import that probably isn't worth the asking price if it was 100% original and mint. Linking to the Andrew Large article on USA Specials is downright deceitful.
