The one I had (about 15 years ago) was one of the nicest playing guitars I've ever owned, and wouldn't go out of tune no matter what you did to it. Very well built and solid.

I don't care much for middle pups either, but it didn't take long to get used to it. You could always lower it all the way or remove it. That would open up some options on the wiring, too. ..and by adjustable, i mean the pup height is adjustable...
