Kramer_nut Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Me likey, I just wish they would be within my budget. Todd
bubs_42 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I owned a Charvel Soloist Archtop, great guitars! The Japanese make some fantastic guitars.
Doink Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 That Charvel was probably the 750XL. Many consider it to be superior to the later Jackson branded Soloist Archtop, due to the thicker body of the Charvel. The 750 was like a regular body with a cap added, whereas the Jackson is a regular body with the sides carved in, removed from the body. There is more info on these models at www.audiozone.dk .I own a Charvel 650 XL, which is a basically a Charvel branded Soloist standard before Jackson wanted to put their name on imports. It is a fantastic guitar! If that's any indication for how nice a 750XL is.

I sold it 7 years ago for like $800 Bucks. Great guitar but I sold it to fund the 91 Sunburst that started it all. Just look for any Charvel with the SN# stamped in the board that came out of Japan. If you want a bargain guitar that is second to none.
Feynman Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Hey Austin, how about this one, or are you only looking for the MIJ limted edition? http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/msg/1288792424.html Seems like a fair price for an archtop to me.

Those are a bit different and don't seem to be very popular. I guess someone looking for a setneck guitar with 22 frets and an LP wood combo might not want sharkfins, 25.5" scale and a point headstock -Austin
Feynman Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Yeah. and their silly new pricing doesn't help much either.I like'em though!Edit - nevermind, I'm (again) an idiot. Please disregard!
