Caddie Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 just order one. He has a money back guarantee. And that's after you pick your custom color.+1 on what sirDaniel said.Sound clips just don't do it for me, kinda like the difference between phone sex & ....well......uh, real sex. It just doesn't transmit all the dimensions, all the dynamics. However, once they perfect mp3 technology for aromas well........now yer talkin ! Smell-o-vision.Sorry, I digress. If you can tolerate the G.A.S. Pains you can simply wait for a chance to play a Valvetech, there always seems to be one reported present at these local/regional/national HFC jams. Or pick up the rare used one here or on The Gear Page, if you don't like it you ought to be able to flip it easily with minimal $$ losses. Or like sirDaniel said, buy a new one, play it for 30 days and if it doesn't do it for you return it. Although I gotta say, Rob's "tweaking abilities" are legendary. If you don't like what you are hearing and can describe what you want (or don't want) he can probably find a way to get to that sound thru tweaking or tube subs.Rob's technical and musical abilities are the real high value undocumented feature of the Valvetech. He's good, very good.Noonan
Guest teefus2 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 where are you located at? might be a valvetech owner in your area. i am in louisville, ky/new albany, in area and would welcome anyone local who wants to fire up the valvetech teefus special head.
bruce919 Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 I have had one for four months now. I wish I would have bought one a few years ago. My other amps don't get played much any more. To me the amp is an old Fender deluxe that has been hot rodded to the limit. & Rob can tweek the amp to your taste. It can do Fender clean to Mesa hi-gain.
DaxT1138 Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 i'm in the central coast of California, Santa Maria to be exact. yes, where the michael jackson case was. we're about an hour away from Santa Barbara and like 20 minutes from Pismo Beach. nobody has anything good around here unless i feel like taking the 101 to LA or something. it's all crates, peaveys, kustom etc.

sirDaniel Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I still think the combination I like the best is MCChris' VAC original w/ the 2x12 oversized Boner cab. It flames! The combos have more "air" about them. I have a version 1 head but haven't sprung for the nice cab yet.
