Does this have the T51 Headstock or the Later Daytona Headstock?

????. What does this mean? The T51 has always had the same headstock (unless it was a custom order or factory error).

If i'm not mistaken, some of the end of the run guitars had whatever neck was left. I've seen T51's with both styles. If i'm wrong then great I want the smaller T51 Headstock, this one just looked longer in the picture at that angle.

I hadn't heard that and I certainly didn't see that practice while I was there. It doesn't mean it didn't happen, though. Where did you hear that?

As I recall I thought we had this discussion here? Like I said if i'm wrong then great I stand corrected. But I have seen them both ways thats why I asked.

The Daytona and T51 shared the name basic neck as far as the woodshop was concerned. It was called an ES22 and had a letter (D or T) that specified if it was for a Daytona or T51. The T51 headstock shape never really changed but, every once in awhile, an ES22D (meant for a Daytona) would be reshaped into an ES22T (to go on a T51). This was done by hand and there are variations. That might be what we are seeing here.

If a T51 exists with a true Daytona headstock I can only see 4 reasons why:

1) Custom ordered that way

2) A mistake occured in assembly and a neck meant for a Daytona went on a T51

3) Someone swapped necks

4) Its an "unofficial" Hamer parts guitar.

The one on eBay looks like a typical T51 headstock to me. It may not be exactly like every other T51 headstock but it certainly isn't a Daytona.

This is the one I really want, but the timing is very wrong.

You can say that again... :P

I really want a T51 and with my plans not to purchase any guitars on 2010 this would be a good way to end the year. B)

Nice looking guitar at a good price. Used Hamer guitars are such good deals...
