Toddeth Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I found a brand new seafoam green Hamer "Daytona" at a pawn shop over the weekend. It still had the plastic on the pickguard even. It's made in Korea, but I'd like to know what year it was made and how much it's worth in mint condition? Any help is greatly appreciated.
cmatthes Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Not 100% sure, as those are tough to date, but I'd say late '90s, possibly up to 2002 or so?Price would probably be somewhere in the mid-upper $200s in that condition - some may break the $300 mark as well. I don't see that finish a lot.The earlier ones are decent guitars for the money.
Toddeth Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 I actually got this one for $112 !! It plays really well, except the frets feel a bit rough on the sides of the neck. I know an excellent tech who should be able to shave those smooth for me. Thanks for the input. I was guessing that price range, but wasn't quite sure.
specialk Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Nice one, Toddeth. Welcome and congrats on the score! Pics on the first post is always worth bonus points too.
Punkavenger Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 My first Hamer was a Korean Standard ... The frets were rough on it also ... wish I had thought to take it to a tech instead of selling it. Put real Seymour Duncans in it and it sounded great. Good guitar ... I think I paid $275 for it in mint cond.
