SirDouglas Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 ok heres my dilema and my question... currently i tried a band out(notice they didnt try me out) here in El Paso... the guitarist is .. how shall i put this... i cant stand it... hows that... they drummer is mediocre BUT the singer is WOW damn she can belt... heres my question.. should i, stepping into this, remove the guitarist in favor of a dime a dozen, cookie cutter that can play worth a shit......or should i let them have thier friend and walk away.... bands are difficult to come by here in this town for some reason... as i toss my hands into the air.... please give me your opinions.... Spank you in advance.... Sir Douglas Randy
Hackubus Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I would * ahem * "Hire" away said singer for my own project if'n I was you.
edgar_allan_poe Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 I would * ahem * "Hire" away said singer for my own project if'n I was you.+1 Guitar players are a dime a dozen...good singers are not.
tgoss Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Maybe if you join them (or them join you) the cream would rise to the top, if you know what I mean. Sometimes it's better to bide your time and wait for the moment to occur when you can bring it up with the lead singer that a personnel change might be in order...heck, she might even bring it up to you..but by getting in the group you won't be letting her out of your sights.
serial Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Agreed w/tgoss. That way you can also determine what the dynamic is between the guitarist and said vocalist. He might be her half brother or something.
marcnorth Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 +1 for what serial and tgoss said. Ride it out for awhile, you never know how it will turn out.
