Does anyone here know the name of the song played on the violin througout "Last of the Mohicans"? I'd like to get the music for it and do a guitar arrangement for it.

As a side note...that's one of my favorite movies of all time!

I don't know the name of the song but the cd is put out by Morgan Creek records. Most of the music is composed by Trevor Jones. Randy Edleman also contributes. Great guy movie and I have had the cd for years. If you can't find the soundtrack anymore, email me and I will send you mine.

Is that really western NC? Cool.

The song is called "I will Find You" and was performed by Enya's original band, Clannad. It shows up on the soundtrack album and at least one of Clannad's studio releases.

Amazon still has the soundtrack available. The violin song is carried throughout the Trevor Jones tracks but track 6, Promentory, has the longest version. I believe the violin/fiddle part is based on a "reel" (my spelling may be incorrect but it is phonetic). I love the movie, it was one of the few I liked enough to buy.

Bill,

I knew the movie was filmed here, because I'm from Winston-Salem myself! I will try to find the CD (but prince...you can send me yours if you no longer want it), and I'll take a look on the net and see if anyone has sheet music for it.

MBMike:

It is indeed a "reel" - I did my time bartending in a hotspot on the early 90s East Coast Irish Music circuit. STILL can't get some of that out of my head! (not a bad thing, actually)

Nosajwp:

Did I know you were a Winstonian (or is that a Salemite?)? Serial and I were there for the mid-to-late 90s. Love that part of the country.
