  1. No matter how hard I tried I could never get into him. He’s an acquired taste.
  2. Trower IMO gets the best tones out of a Strat than just about anyone else.
  3. Well you can’t spell Crap without the rap in it. Coincidence ? I think not.
  4. Pre Perry Journey was a hell of a band. Didn’t match record sales with Perry but I ll take early Journey any day. Lucky enough to see them too
  5. I’m 95 percent certain I saw that Midnight Special show from 73. I know they did a In Concert appearance or two around the same time period. Use to live for those two shows.
  6. Hard to find anyone playing that kind of boogie rock anymore. Foghat was a very good band.
  7. Hope it’s good but I think that’s a memory best left in the past. I think only one is left and the few pictures I saw a few years back didn’t look good. They didn’t age well. Hope I’m wrong.
  8. The back album photo on Love it to Death should have been on the cover. To this day it just screams rock n roll. When you consider it came out in 71 it made a lot of parents nervous.
  9. I think Phil Cambell’s latest Old Lions still Roar is very good. He uses a bunch of guest vocalists. Worth a listen.
  10. That new Hollywood Vampires release is very good. Much better than the first time around. Mostly new songs this time and they sound like a actual band, not just a bunch of guest musicians. Better sound quality too. First was more modern production and it was harsh. Tommy Henriksen is producing this one and less is more here.
  11. I'm into this new one. Some straight up fast rockers mixed in with Alice's off center style of rock to satisfy the fans. Even a little Texas boogie with the signature sound of Mr. Gibbons playing guitar on "I've Fallen in Love and Can't get Up". Hard to believe nobody came up with that twist before. Neal Smith's drumming on three cuts just drives the music even further. Still has major chops and still a very under appreciated drummer.
  12. Were those 2 girls on America Got Talent a few years Back ??
  13. That one still get's heavy play with me.
  14. "I can think of at least 20 acts that I'd rather see than Alice Cooper on the Bonnaroo stage. Alice Cooper was (as is many things in life), a person in a place and time... his music had no real message and he was just concerned with putting on the best show possible (making as much money as possible)." That is way, way off. It's fine if you don't care all that much for someones music for any number of reasons, but to say Alice Cooper's music had no real message is just not true. He has commented on some of our social issues in his own unique way in his music. He has put a spotlight on many things that the rest of us would rather just sweep under the rug. It does not always show up in the singles but it is explored on the deep cuts on many of the albums. If you are looking for a message try these on for size. Refrigererator Heaven, Second Coming, Hallowed Be my Name, Dead Babies, My Stars, Generation Landside, Hey Stoopid, Brutal Planet, Wicked Young Man, Pick up the Bones, When Hell Comes Home. A whole lot of messages right there and that's just off the top of my head. And I watched a lot of Bonnaroo on youtube. Some of those "hip" bands were painful to watch. I actually felt sorry for the kids today if this is what passes for rock with some of those acts. I also use to work security for concerts and have seen a ton of bands, including Phis. Christ almighty I had to go on suicide watch after about an hour. I wanted to take a swany off the upper deck into the parking lot. Bored out of my mind. But that is just my opinion.
  15. He also sums up politics pretty good in Elected too. Especially the last verse. I know we have problems. We got problems right here in Central City. We have problems on the northside, southside, eastside and westside. We have problems in NYC, St. Louis, Philly, LA, Detroit, Chicago. Everybody has problems. And personally, I DON'T CARE. The Alice Cooper persona and concert is the antithesis of all politics.
  16. You beat me to the punch Thorn by less than 10 minutes.
  17. Funny, I thought people went to a concert for a good time. Maybe the last time I saw a political type concert was during the days of the Vietnam war. I have been going to concerts for 40 years. Nobody has ever asked my political affilliation or view on current affairs while attending a concert. I hate Ted Nugents politics but would go to see him in a heartbeat because he rocks. As for Alice Cooper and a chasm with the Bonnaroo crowd, it was certainly not evident from the youtube broadcast because those people were a rocking. Maybe some sour grapes from the "hip" bands because somebody stole some of their thunder and got schooled on what a rock concert is suppose to be ?? Without a doubt AC is a member of the 1% if you go by his income but he is about nonpolitical as they come. "Elected" is stricly tongue in cheek and about being fed up with politics. Alice has gone on record saying "Rock should never be in bed with politics. If you are listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you are a bigger moron than they are". I'm thinking this backlash is made up by some disgruntled bloogers. Who btw, are not in any way shape or form a professional source of news.
  18. The Halo of Flies version from Bonnaroo is Killer. That song is 40 years old and it still smokes. Should be required viewing by any young band that thinks they know what rock is. Muscianship, showmanship and balls to the wall rock n roll. If you get a chance, watch his School's Out performance. He keeps that fresh by mixing in parts of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall. One hell of a tight band.
  19. Seems his performance went over very well at Bonnaroo. From the youtube feed the place was packed and they were into it. Most of the reviews say his performance was one of the best at the festival.
  20. It was just the second show of the new tour for him. Still tuning the engine. Orianthi is a smoking player and in her second year with the Coop. That 3 guitar attack is killer. Who would have expected that encore cover ?? They go on the road with Iron Maiden for a month in a few days. That is a solid package.
  21. Well I am a bit skepitcal. You have a brand new release that is selling well, you are out on the road and the reviews are good with people lined up to see you and you want to postpone 30 plus dates in the middle of the tour so you can keep it fresh ?? Sounds a bit fishy to me. Most groups soldier on and add dates when things are going well. Maybe these guys are just out of shape and need a break. Hope nothing worse than that.
  22. First time I ever saw them was the same month they released Toy's In the Attic. Still one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Saw them about 6 or 7 times after that and it became a hit or miss proposition. I saw them once in Buffalo NY and they stunk up the place. Buffalo is not the town to phone in your performance. They were sloppy as hell and IMO just showed a huge lack of respect to the fans. They were literally pelted off the stage. Mid song a stagering Steven Tyler threw the middle finger to the audience and walked off the stage with the band. Anything that was not nailed down in the Aud went up on that stage. I think a couple of amps bit the dust that night by some well aimed throws from fans on the floor. How those boys got out of town alive that night is beyond me. If that was an example of the bands "creative substance induced days", you can keep it.
  23. Must be a good paying job but the work environment has to suck.
  24. A few days have passed since I found out and I get more bummed about it every day. That first one is just so awesome. I can listen to that type of rock all day long.
