Question

So I got to starting my Cabinet Project that started as a Tone Tubby Ceramic 4x12. The cabinet came with some damage so I'm going to tolex and repair the cab. So I removed the tolex and found that the cab is just stapled together and not very stout. So I want to sure it up better. I want to remove the supports and put them in better and make the corner stiffer. So how do I make the corners stiffer. Screws?, Dowels?, any help is welcomed.

I think glue/screwing the supports back in with some clamps/Titebond will do a lot to strengthen the cab. I'd also run four 1"x1" stringers in all four inside, top and bottom corners, front to back. New tolex and heavy duty, metal corner protectors will do nicely, too.

I Agree with RobB.

If you have something to square up the cabinet while you do this would be a good idea also.

Shoot an email to Mojo Music Supply, they sell the tolex and are real helpful with recommending how much to get for different stuff...it might even be on their website. www.mojotone.com

alright I bought the amp so I ordered the tolex and glue tonight. Phase II has begun. Now I need one more speaker. I'll update when I get the Tolex and Glue.
