miragejake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 2005 Gretsch Tennessee Rose w/ Bigsby. The bridge and p'ups have been upgraded. Bridge is a Syncrosonic intonateable bridge...but it also comes w/ the original. The Hilotron p'ups have been changed to a TV Jones Powertron in the neck and Powertron + in the bridge...They sound incredible. The guitar is DEAD mint, the case is DEAD mint, and it comes w/ all the original case candy---YEAH!...doesn't come w/ original p'ups. This one's got some serious MOJO! I've had it only for a few weeks...it's super cool--I've been very surprised as I thought of Gretsch's as rhythm type axes, and thought I'd use it on just a song or two...I played it at a gig recently, and was floored...ended up using it most of the night. It's a Gretsch, so of course there are tons of tones in this box w/ all the different pickup settings...but I was surprised at just how playable it is and how fast the neck is...not to mention BIG TONE! I'd be keeping it, but I'm on a quest to run a two amp stereo rig. ...and now, pics--forgive me, I suck w/ the camera Specs: Beautiful Deep Gloss Urethane Burgundy Finish TV Jones Pickups 22 Frets plus 0 Fret Chrome Plated Hardware Bigsby B6C Vibrato Deluxe Hardshell Case (a Beauty) 24.6" Scale Grover Sta-Tite Tuners Simulated F-holes (look very cool) Adjustable Truss Rod Body Bindings 3-Way Pickup Switch Standby Switch Master Volume Neck Pickup Volume Bridge Pickup Volume 3-Postion Tone Switch Syncrosonic Intonateable Bridge (Also comes w/ original Chrome Rocking Bar Bridge) 12" Radius Rosewood neck Neo Classic Thumb Inlays Amps I'm interested in, LOT'S: Savage, Fuchs, Goodsell, Morgan, Cornford, Bruno, Brown Note, Greer, Dr. Z, Rivera, Victoria, Matchless, Divided by 13, 65 Amps, Bad Cat, Bogner, Naylor, Tophat, Germino, etc. etc...I know there's plenty I'm leaving out...point is, I'm looking for a BADASS amp to go w/ my other amp to make a huge sounding stereo rig. I'd prefer a head/cab setup...but will consider combo's too. Hit me up and let me know what you got. Guitar trades...I MIGHT consider some, but looking for an amp really b/c if I do a guitar trade, then I'll have to end up trading/selling a different guitar to fund this stereo rig GAS  ...but you never know. I've done lot's of trades on TGP...been a member for a while, so rest assured. I'm in Augusta, GA ...so if there was anybody within 4 or 5 hours that wanted to do a trade I'd be willing to meet halfway. I ship Fedex ground fully insured from my office...and I even have the original Gretsch Box!!! I'll sell it too for $1650 shipped/ paypal'd. Trade Value $1750 Could one of the mods please delete one of my threads...I can't figure out how, sorry guys.
cmatthes Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I owned an original '62 Tennessean, and it was among the best playing vintage Gretsch guitars I have ever played (many of them look great, but kinda suck!).These newer reissues I've played blew my "real" one away in every sense.
miragejake Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 Yeah, this thing is crazy cool. I've never owned a Gretsch, but always was intrigued. Didn't need another guitar, but had to try one...I love it, and don't really wanna get rid of it, but I recently saw The Radiators in New Orleans...and damn, Dave Malone just gave me GAS to run a 2 amp rig...sooo, here she is. You will not be disappointed in this one!
Jakeboy Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I bought a Hamer Artist Korina HB in Jazzburst from MirageJake in Jan 2008 and I can vouch for him as an upfront honest seller who will pack & deliver the guitar well. That Gretsch is badass. I have 4 Lil Dawg Amps...hand-wired PTP by one guy.....but I can't part with them.....I wonder what the PowerTrons would sound like in my Artist....?
miragejake Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 Thanks Jakeboy...The Gretsch is badass--there's gotta be somebody out there w/ a badass amp for trade....I'd also consider a super cool Hamer--Newport / Monaco Superpro / Artist Custom...etc.
miragejake Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 Bump, PRICE REDUCED BY $300$1350 shipped...guys I've found the amp I want and it's local--so reducing the price for a quick sale.
Craig S Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Wow at least from the description, can't see photobucket pics where I'm at. If my PRS would have popped loose when I tried to sell I might have been on that... Still, I'll check tonight when I can get to my own computer...
