Travis Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I've been holding onto these guitars for a while. They both play amazingly and sound killer. The fact is, I don't have much time to play right now. And I've been using my Talladega for the vast majority of my playing time. Also, I have some other guitars that have more sentimental value, if less monetary value. Here's the downfall... I'm working in the Chicago area right now and the guitars are at home in St. Louis. And I don't know exactly when I'm going to be able to get them. I may be able to have my wife pack them up and ship them out if she can find the time. I may be able to drive down and get them. I'll figure it out... First up is Sunburst 8 111. This thing is all original (save period correct pots if I recall). Original DiMarzios with one of the best sounding neck pickups I've ever heard (can sound be described as woody & smoky...?) and a stock bridge pickup that isn't shrill. Original tuners, sustain block with a shim made from pickguard plastic and original or at least period correct non-logo'd case. Bought this from BCR a few years ago and it is in the exact same shape as when I got it. I've kept it in my basement the entire time, never gigged with it. It's got some dents and some finish cracks, still in great shape for a 32 year old guitar. This guitar deserves to be played. If it doesn't sell, fine. If it does, I do ask one HUGE favor of the new owner: if you sell it, give me first right of refusal. I would appreciate it. $2250 shipped, add 3% for paypal The 83 Vector is a player, not a collector. It's all stock, with the hot DiMarzio Slammer pickups and a sustain block trem (no arm). The trem is 100% blocked with wood so it is as stable as a Sustain Block fixed bridge. It cops the early Judas Priest sounds easily, roll back the volume and it cleans up great. It's got several chips, nicks, dings, extra screw holes, no trem cavity cover, etc. It is solid as a rock and plays great. The neck is what I would call thin and medium wide. It's not early 90's shredder-thin, it's not real round either. It comes with a hardhell case that may or may not be stock. It doesn't matter because a previous owner had his way with it and a plethora of paints... The case is solid and fully functional, it just looks weird. $500 shipped, add 3% for paypal
