atquinn Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Way too expensive IMO, but I've never seen a Centaura like it. Second cool one in a few weeks.http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-CUSTOM-USA-HAMER-E...=item3efda14eb0-Austin
esquared Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 It does seem expensive.Nice to see more maple body shredders out there. I wasnt sure if this was a diablo or a centaura but very cool.

zorrow Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 It looks like a mix of a Diablo and a Centaura. Well... Centaura II you say? I didn't even know those existed! But that's a cool guitar anyway --though expensive, yes.
esquared Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Good catch with the maple top only. That is interesting. I don't know if a solid maple would be worth more than just a top in this case but seems like too much either way.
atquinn Posted March 8, 2010 Author Posted March 8, 2010 Looks to be a Diablo...Nope a Centuara II. They look a bit like Diablos, but the neck inlays are different (they have offset dots) and both pickups are slanted; not just the neck pickup. The body edges aren't as radiused either. I believe it was initially designed to be the neck Steve Stevens model, but others would know more about that than I do. If you look at his Washburn guitars, you'll be able to see the resemblance.-Austin
Jeff R Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Body is a Centaura 2HB (what was to be the Steve Stevens III) minus tone knob and midrange mini-switch or whatever that switch did. I've had two 2HBs over the years.Apparently I miss them ... the parts guitar I plan to build later this year will be almost identical to the one in the photo (dinky strat body, alder, reverse slant pu's, master volume only and a three way blade where you'd normally find it positioned on a strat body). About the only difference is mine's gonna not have a maple top and it will have a maple fingerboard.I'd get this one but it's overpriced in my book. I can build mine the way I want for substantially less than what he's asking for that one.
