dgstandard Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Just got it...old refinish job in the yellow, lots of cracks and chips showing the original white, neck is a medium, flatter radius, could use a fret mill, tattered OHSC. It is all there but definately a player. I wonder what the background is? The fellow at the shop said an administer of an estate brought in several old guitars including this one.
BCR Greg Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 That's the factory finish. The clear lacquer yellows over the white undercoat.
smith Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 I'll bet the yellowing is just the original clearcoat. I've got an '84 Cruise that is Ice Pearl and the clearcoat looks just like that, well what's left of it. Cool bass btw!Ha, that's funny. What Greg said two minutes earlier than me.
dgstandard Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Cool - thanks for the info! I thought I was duped. Guess it won't be needing that refinish job Greg!!
