BadgerDave Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Excellent! When are you bringing it over for a pickup swap?Next Saturday, of course. Bring your soldering iron.Got any Rios laying around that you're not using? No Rios.I think I have a set of WCRs though. I haven't been through the pickup drawer recently. Who knows what we might find?

hardheartedbill Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I had one that Steve had done up w/ the TX/BBQ tapped. Push pull vol and tone for the splintting, man, it sounded great, something to ponder

Push pull vol and tone for the splintting, man, it sounded great, something to ponderI have that same setup in my PRS. I should probably try something different in the Mirage, so as to avoid making the PRS superfluous (which the Rios in my Highway One Strat kinda did to the DCV Custom I was considering buying; sorry Dave!).What I really should do is see if I like the stock pickups first, but I hate to waste a trip to Dave's. I mean, it's not like I go there for the company.
hardheartedbill Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Voodoo 59s changed my mind about humbuckers in general, more pondering LOL
seeker Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Give Wolfetone Marshallheads a whirl. They're pretty clear pickups but with a good kick to em.
hamersandstrats Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I loved that Guitar with the stock pickups. Mine had a Seth in the neck and a great JB in the bridge. Everyone who played that thing commented on the tone. Then again, you cant go wrong with Rios!
