paults Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Excellent! Another happy HFCer gets this one. I told you that mysterious bridge pickup is a monster - that's why I never took it out. Here's a thought: I always take the back cover off of stratoid guitars - So, no need to shorten the block. That might cause you to lose low end. If the block still gets in your way, you could put a flat shim in the neck pocket, and raise the bridge the same amount as the shim. Easier to make a shim than grind a block. One other aside: the neck and middle pickups are real single coils, not stacked humbuckers. And there's no shielded pickguard/ control cavity to isolate them from interference. They'll buzz, when they want to

And there's no shielded pickguard/ control cavity to isolate them from interference. They'll buzz, when they want to I'm thinking of putting a BIG-block on all my guitars. Shimming the neck is a good idea (did this on my Korean Diablo & top-mounted the Gotoh). I'd prefer another method as I'm wanna keep the Cent 'as is'. I might actually shim beneath the back cover-plate to stop the block scraping. I think this might work. Action is just how I want it so I'd prefer not to shim my neck & raise the trem. I'll sort it out & get back to you with my solution. The buzz is more of an electrical crackle than interference from my experience. I'll try a few things & see what I come up with. Could be cos the guitar has sat for a while. I will find a solution tho Cheers Paul/BubbaVO
