Chap & Cali body woods?

I believe the majority of Chaparrals and Californians had Honduras mahogany bodies. Bolt-on's had maple necks and set neck (Custom) Chaparrals had mahogany necks (not sure what the neck wood used was on the set neck Cali Customs, but I'd bet it was probably mahogany too) Both guitars were available in Deluxe trim with an alder body/maple neck and some Chaps and Calis were made of maple bodies (flame or quilt) and had necks of maple.

the setnecks had maple necks as well - I've never seen a floyd-equipped Hamer with anything but.

Cali deluxes have alder bodies.

Are you positive? I was under the impression that the earlier mid-80's Floyd equipped 24 3/4" scale set neck Chaps had mahogany necks? I know in the 1990-1991 Hamer catalog I have, the SS-1, Sunburst (w/Floyd) specifically state they have a MAPLE neck (I'm assuming the Chap and Cali of that year do as well), but I thought that was an improvement that happened in the late 80's-up Floyd equipped Hamers? Dave E, if I'm mistaken about this, then I apologize for partially bad info (at least Tobereeno and I concur on the Deluxe body wood).

Hamer always listed the Cali Deluxe's with Alder bodies although i've never seen one over here so i can't confirm that - but they said they were !
