Rocktuna Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I have a 73 Les Paul Custom that I'm thinking of selling.Several years ago I had BCR Greg pull the original pups out and put in a Burstbucker 2 and 3 and new pots.I kept all the old parts.Should I have the original parts put back in?Will it negatively effect the value of the guitar if I leave in the "new" parts? How much will it increase the value/saleability if I put back the original parts?I'm going to include the original parts in the sale regardless. There was nothing wrong with the original parts, cept I hate the taper on Gibson pots and wanted to try a pickup swap.I figure I could cover the cost of putting the parts back in by selling the BB's
bubs_42 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 You shouldn't have to worry much if you just include all the original parts with the sale. Just leave the BB's in there and put the rest of the stuff in the case with a For Sale Sign on it. Your good to go.

I have a 73 Les Paul Custom that I'm thinking of selling.
Several years ago I had BCR Greg pull the original pups out and put in
a Burstbucker 2 and 3 and new pots.
I kept all the old parts.
Should I have the original parts put back in?
Will it negatively effect the value of the guitar if I leave in the "new" parts?
How much will it increase the value/saleability if I put back the original parts?
I'm going to include the original parts in the sale regardless.
There was nothing wrong with the original parts, cept I hate the taper on Gibson pots and
wanted to try a pickup swap.
I figure I could cover the cost of putting the parts back in by selling the BB's
