Alternatives to Audacity for USB Turntable?

Cary

Question

Posted

I picked up a Audio-Technica USB turntable that came with Audacity software, but I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop, and they only have a beta version of Audacity for that operating system. Can anyone recommend anything besides Audacity for ripping albums to my computer? (Preferably something that won't break the bank).

Thanks!

I have been using the beta version for Win7 for awhile now, and it seems to run flawlessly for my simple recording needs.

Thanks - I appreciate the recommendation. In researching it, I saw some potential issues people have had with it, but if it's running okay for you I'll give it a try.

I didn't even notice my version was beta until I read this thread. Works fine for me, too, but I haven't used it much. Windows has a sound recorder and your sound card probably has one, too. I know Creative always bundles one.
