DavidE Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Anyone know of companies that provide insurance for music gear used in business?I heard about this one: http://musicproinsurance.com/But I'm looking for other choices.
shankyboy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 From what I have heard, Clarion is the best in the business. I am getting ready to purchase a policy from them for my studio and sound gear.
phoenix Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Heritage do serious instruments(Stadivarii)down to guitars so they wont balk at claims on vintage. $500 per year per 100k. drops are covered. only exclusions are rodents, gov seizure, civil insurection, and the usual...nuclear war( yeah, like I will be walking across the the brimstone to bitch that the plastic logo on my Hofner melted). got them from George Gruhn 1-800-289-8837I'm selling gear, but at least it will be bound for the move.can bind in a day. steve
tomteriffic Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 One bit of fine print to check is where the coverage applies, particularly if you foresee travel out of the country. Buddy of mine had a 'bulletproof' policy from Lloyds of London and had some gear stolen in Mexico City while on tour, only to find out that Lloyd's defined North America as the continental US and Canada only.
DavidE Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 Thanks guys. The info is for some friends/bandmates who will soon be touring with their original band, Saving Jane. www.savingjane.comYou might hear their single Girl Next Door on your local top 40/clear channel station.
