zenmindbeginner Posted October 15, 2011 Share Posted October 15, 2011 There are about a dozen species of Rosewood... it's really an overgrown bean plant.You can identify Brazilian rosewood by it's smell... the other rosewoods aren't as fragrant. It's been illegal to trade since 1992 though.I doubt that Hamer was using Brazilian Rosewood though... probably East Indian Rosewood.Just give yer fretboard a good whiff and tell us what you smell.
