bassplayer6489 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Well its been awhile, but my friend and I have started a band, and we need a drum machine. We were sick of everyone not wanting to practice, so its just him and me, he sings and i play acoustic. If anyone has a drum machine, any kind, post it up. Thanks, Brian
silentman Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Boss Dr Rhythm 770 is a very powerful one. It has room to store lots of user created beats and songs and has many already constructed in lots of styles. It even allows you to create your own kit and create each drum/cymbal the way you want it. Pretty easy to use and program. Odd time sigs not a problem either.Simpler and cheaper is the Zoom Rhythmtrack 123. I used to own one of these an it was cool in that you could program bass lines as well. It has been replaced by the 223.

kurtsstuff Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 I have a Boss/Roland DR-880 at work that was used as a demo...I think these sell on line for about $489 give or take...this one is new but was a store demo and I'd go $350.00 plus shipping??
Ryan07 Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 I've owned an Akai MPC2000XL, and many Roland/Boss drum machines, synths, and Groove Boxes in the past. All were great, but I sold everyone of them once I found Fruity Loops. All of my Roland/Boss products sound libraries were static. FL can import samples of various codec. There are sites all over the internet where you can download drum samples and loops of anything from the Roland TR-808 to a Birch 1988 Tama Artstar II w/Ambassador heads and Zildjian A Custom cymbals. The upgradability of the Fruity Loops sound library is endless. The Express version is only $49, the regular edition (which I use) is $99. They also make a "Producer" and an "XXL" version, which are all-in-one studios. For your needs I'd go with the $99.00 version. Once you purchase FL, all future software upgrades are free. You can download a demo version here. I think it has the "Save" feature disabled.
Jimbilly Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I've been thinking about a drum machine too, I own a dr rhythm, but I haven't seen it in a long time, I loaned it to my cousins and they say they still use it a lot. I saw one of the zoom models as mentioned above for about $45 at a pawn shop, would that be a good deal?
