Mixing A8 & A2 in P90, will it degauss the A2?

I threw in an A8 mag I had lying around in to a Wolfetone P90 with A2's. These Wolfetones have been to middy in my all mahogany Artist.

The A8 did the trick. Now it sounds great.

Problem is I've heard stronger magnets will degauss weaker magnets? Will the A2 be degaussed by sittning next to the A8?

How long will it take, if so? If we are talking years then It might not be much of a problem.

My guess is that the stronger A8 mag will slightly degauss the A2, but the magnetic energy won't be lost, it'll only strengthen the weaker mag, albeit there might be small losses to entropy that typically occur in energy transfers. Some of the character that you're hearing may be the imbalance that exists between the coils, such pu's tending toward a broader frequency response. Long story short, the tonal character might slightly change over time to the extent that the equalization of magetic field potential exists and actually occurs in this case. (An electrical engineer might be able to do the math for you, if you had accurate data to input).

It should also be noted that there are several factors that affect the speed with which magnetic field degaussing occurs (plenty of info online, if the mood suits you...).

Wouldn't sweat it, though - if it does occur at all, it'll likely be so gradual that it'd be unnoticeable.

Okay. That is about what I thought. Thanks. I'll continue to rawk with this one like it is :-?

Anyone with a background in electrical engineering?
