Guitar Parts Sources - Hamer Standard

Question

Heh all,

I just got a Korean Hamer Standard; all-Maple brown-stained with pickguard (see thread on other forum). Knew that the selector switch was iffy, but was going to change out the electronics anyways. It ended up failing a little sooner than I hoped.

Issue is that the stock selector has a long-threaded shaft. Has to reach through both the routed wood -and- the pickguard. It measures 1/2", and it needs that full length just to get the retaining lug on with one turn.

Can't seem to find a quality one anywhere. The good, and not so good, ones are 5/16". Only possible one is at guitarpartsonline.com. Kind of looks just like the one on there now, but am not sure if it's long enough and really wanted to get a quality replacement.

Gibson Explorer one is listed as L-shaped, which won't fit in the existing cavity.

Any suggestions? Anyone know what Hamer USA uses?

Thanks Cynic! That should hopefully do it.

Gene- The longest switchcraft has 11/32" threaded section. That would do it for the standard Standards (har har), but the pickguard adds too much. The almighty stoopid thing is that the pickguard hides NOTHING except wood. All routing for pups and switch is internal. Actually thinking of not putting the PG back on for now, looks great without (except the screw holes). Do want to be able to return it to PG-config.

I have a couple guitars that have the pickguard removed including Shorty my mini Standard and my '96 Korina Standard.
