For my home made 2X8 cab- I'm looking for an upgrade to the '80's era Peavey OEM eights from one of their smaller stereo chorus amps that I currently have loaded in there. I figure with all of the low wattage retro-style amps and cabs out these days, someone must make an eight inch guitar driver that delivers the goods. The cab is a closed box and the amp is a Traynor Darkhorse 15 (or 2) watt tube head.
I'm looking for a good clean(ish) to slightly overdriven tone. I have no interest in super high gain or super clean- I'm more interested in the "just on the edge of breakup" tone. With that in mind...
