Alittle help identifying my Hamer.

Im new here so....Hello

I was trying to find some info on a Hamer that I just bought and came across this site. Needless to say I still have not been able to find anything so I thought Id post here and see if anyone could help.

I found this bady used at my local GC and fell in love with it. Thing plays great and sounds good too. Just couldnt pass it up for the price. Its a Hamer XT series Studio/Sunburst Flatop(I dont know I have no clue what Hamer calls thing) black on black with a skull graphic.

I checked the SN here and looked on Hamers site for SN info. Their site says models made between 2000 to current have a 6 digit SN but mine has a 7 digit SN. The SN is 6860467 and is made in China. Pix below:

Anyone have a clue about this one?

Yeah, it's a Chinese made import. The serial number info you read is for US made Hamers only. Imports were generally made in Korea up until the late 90s but with various aquistitions of Hamer (now owned by Fender I believe), import production moved to China. I don't know anything about the later imports or XT models to give you further info.

Most on here own/prefer US made Hamers (all handmade/hand-finished) & now, all Hamers are custom orders [correct me if I'm wrong someone]. I hear the imports are held in high regard among players who play imports tho prices don't always reflect this (esp where Hamers are concerned).

The knobs are aftermarket, and I'm pretty sure that the graphic finish might be as well.

Both imports I owned have been excellent (92 Diablo MIK & a 2001 Cali Deluxe MIK). They were sold to pay for US Hamers (88 Cali + 92 Cent)...
