alch Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Anyone know where i can find more info on the korean hamer slammer series? I've tried googling but to no avail... Specifically looking for info such as pickup specs, wood, etc etc
elduave Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Hi and welcome. www.slammerguitars.comFeel free to drop me a line if you need prices or info...
alch Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 no.. sorry... i meant the korean Hamer Slammer Series.... i don't think they make them any more? I own 2 and they are superb, very high quality for a korean guitar and good for the price too!
silentman Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Probably not much info to be had. Which models do you own?
alch Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 A Diablo and a Archtop Goldtop. Both awesome guitars!
Submariner85 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 There was a transition period (not sure how long it was) where the headstock said "Hamer" big with "Slammer Series" smaller under it. These were Korean. I have 3 Koreans that Just say Hamer on them....a Stellar1, and SATF and a STNDF. Also there is one of those transition guitars on Ebay right now:Check out the Logo.http://cgi.ebay.com/HAMER-SLAMMER-SUNBURST...1QQcmdZViewItemThanks Elduave (see below).
alch Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 Oh, so the XT series is made in korea? I've read somewhere that the XT series is made in china, and the slammers by hamer are made in indonesia? am i wrong?
Submariner85 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 As far as I know. Maybe one of the dealers can chime in on this one.
silentman Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I have a centaura slammer series like the one C1 is describing. I like the pickups, but the wiring, kobs and tuners suck. One day I'll upgrade them and it will be a nice guitar for the $45 I paid for it.
elduave Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I've read somewhere that the XT series is made in china, and the slammers by hamer are made in indonesia? am i wrong? That is correct.
Submariner85 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Thanks. I own 3 Koreans and was under the impression they were still made there.
alch Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 I've read somewhere that the XT series is made in china, and the slammers by hamer are made in indonesia? am i wrong? That is correct. so do they still make hamers in korea? Would you know where i can find info on the old korean made hamers?
elduave Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 To clarify: XT=China Slammer=Indonesia No Hamers currently being made in Korea to the best of my knowledge. They make a few in New Hartford, CT though...
Submariner85 Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong. I'm no expert but I am an enthusiast. Thanks for letting me know too. Also, I'm not knocking the Slammers. They are great guitars for the money. I can tell you about my Koreans2003 Purple SATF - Has "Sunburst Flametop" inscribed on the truss rod cover, Hamer humbuckers, has made in korea stamped on the back of the headstock but the serial number is on a sticker. My Standard and Stellar have nothing on the truss rod cover and have Duncan Designed humbuckers and have both the serial number and made in korea stamped on the back of the headstock. They all just say "Hamer" on the headstock. All three are excellent players, candidates for electronics upgrades. Great looking finishes, solid construction. Set necks.
