velorush Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I thought this article pushed to me by American Express might be of interest to the retailers among us, especially the instrument dealers. Far too often they are put in the position of providing a showroom for Musician's Friend.Hope this is of help.
Steve Haynie Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I saw a kid and his parents come into the music store years ago around Christmas. The kid picked up an Epiphone Les Paul and just kept going, "Yeah! This is it!" When the father was asked if he was interested, the answer was a polite no. It was obvious they planned on ordering the guitar from Musician's Fiend. The father would not allow me to give him a price on the guitar, and the store was matching the MF price, even compensating shipping versus sales tax.
BlueRedWhite Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Canada has now a big problem, is not new, but we made aware of it recently through an article:is called "price gap" in which Canadians are paying not only the transportation fees from US products, but more, sometimes 10 times the original price.Furthermore, online stores such as Amazon are playing Big Brother. For example, Amazon Canada only sales books, dvds, games and a few other items, no clothes, no shoes nothing extra. They just had a limited Baby section now, and it's poor!Untill recently, looking for things for my tall baby has been a pain in the ass, the bath tub that i use is already too small, and somehow amazon.ca does not sale tall babies merchandise, well, amazon.com won't F^&^& deliver it either!! That i don't understand. For us is still less expensive to import from US than to buy the same product here.
