Okay, I've viewed a couple of online tutorials and read some forum shite about how to do it but would like to know what our esteemed panel of experts has to say about pulling out the OFR studs from a gee-tar.

depends on the tools you have.

Garage logic,

large wire cutters

hot solder gun

1/2 round dowel, round one side, flat other side.

something to lay between flat dowel side and guit body.

you are going to use the cutters, dowel, etc. as leverage, see saw effect.

you will have to adjust the stud to correct height in relation to cutters, leverage, etc.

Heat up solderer, apply hear to stud stop to paint is cooking if applicaple.

slowly ease up, in a consistent motion, even pressure, the flow of enertia.

re adjust leverage angles as needed, more heat if app.

Slow and easy goes it.

I read you can put a small bolt down in there and then screw the post down until it hits the bolt. Eventually the stud will start to rise up as you continue to screw down the post. I was attempting that until I discovered the f-ing post is stripped to hell. The hex wrenches just don't bite. Tried using a pair of pliers but too slippery: once the post hits the bolt, the pliers stops gripping the smooth exterior of the post... Grrrrr!

Jay, my hats off to you, again- the hot soldering iron on the inside of the stud did the trick. Loosened the glue and the studs came out with some moderate application of muscle.

Thank you!

I always used old inserts with good pliers & a steel rule/block of wood (to stop me marking the guitar body). There are many ways but the main thing is be careful with the leverage & body. Well done on getting the stubborn fkrs out :)
