cynic Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Butcher Block is multiple pieces glued together to form a whole. Check out some of the sub $1k Gibson releases with a transparent finish. Many of them are 4-5 pieces of wood and would be considered butcher block.
svl Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 cynic is correct. That V is most likely 3 large pieces (center and two wings). Again, damn fine guitar.
marcnorth Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 One way to tell for sure.....Got a bandsaw? I pulled the pickups last night and it is solid korina body I just took my bass apart and with the exception of it being a 2 peice body it's solid wood, not veneered. I can follow the end grain pattern from the v top to bottom from front to back and into the routes to the bottom of the routes. It has a very large route that the pick guard covers. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow that show it.
