Nocturnal Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 Looks great!! Is the third knob a tone control?
planetgaffnet Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Volume volume tone.I was thinking about dropping in some of those big pole Delanos, but figured they'd just look weird. The only thing I couldn't find was a black Strat jack socket, so I got a chrome one and painted it black; I'd prefer a flat socket in black, as all my cables terminate in right angled Neutrik silent plugs. That's it!P
Nocturnal Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 I'm not a fan of having the input jack on the face of a bass, but I can deal with the strat-type jack. It would blend in better if it was black tho.Not sure that I've ever heard a bass with the Delano pickups, but I agree it would look a little odd with the large pole pieces. Thanks for sharing the pic of your bass!!
chromium Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I'd prefer a flat socket in black, as all my cables terminate in right angled Neutrik silent plugs. If it helps, this site appears to have some black NOS 80s flat Schecter jack plates in stock... http://tonyfarr.ca/tonyfarr.ca/FARR_TEST.swf
chromium Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Dang. This is the only other flat Strat plate that I recall seeing...http://alembic.stores.yahoo.net/blaster.htmlPricey for what you need, but they do have black.. and maybe they'd sell just the plate if asked
mc2 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Harbor Freight sells a dirt cheap powder coating setup...under $100 on sale. You can easily powder coat your own hardware black and bake the parts in your kitchen oven.
Steve Haynie Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 A friend learned to powder coat parts for the drag cars he was building. He said it was easy.
