PU change on a Superpro

Montelovesco

Question

Posted

I received a nice set of Riogrande PUs I planned to put into my Superpro (Bryce). But I have actually no idea how to do this without ripping off the top. Or do I need kids/womens fingers to reach into the body, but if so how am I supposed to solder?

There must be some other way I guess. Any hints or how-tos?

Thanks a lot.

Dig out grandmother's old balls of wool and string them to the pots from the outside. Then pull out the whole internal construction through the pickup cavity. The wool strings will allow to move it all back into place.

It's a mess and the only one reason to sell those guitars.

That's not a German answer. That's a Bavarian answer! :D

Did it (thanks, Gorch!).

I really love to tune a guitar, but if I ever talk about changing PUs in a Superpro please kill me. I am glad nobody heard me cursing...

BUT: Those Rio PUs are really great in this guitar. Heavy, beefy, funky? You bet!

My SuperPro is perfect the way it is.

You couldn't pay me to change it.

One of the reasons I'll never sell my Newport. It was just to much engagement on the pups no one would pay for. ;)

Congrats you've made it Monte.
