Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Going on eBay soon. HFC Pricing: $500 + PP + $40 shipping Some electronics problems...the 3-way switch doesn't work. But it has a blend knob that can be used to switch between pickups. Bigsby-style trem works for gentle trem action. Great shape for a 46-year-old guitar...
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 Great little guitar...great tone. Push-push knob to split single coil still works great. Low action. Never tested out the trem...better to assume it doesn't stay in tune, considering its age and time of design/construction... Made in Taiwan... Oh, yeah: Going on eBay soon. HFC Pricing: $100 + PP + $30 shipping
ARM OF HAMER Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 I see you like Yamaha Guitars. I used to have a ton of them......... SAs, SGs, AES-FG Gambale, RGX Customs, RGZ Custom [Only one I have ever seen in person or owned.]VERY rare! Weddingtons, Customs, Classics.Pacificas 1412 and 1421. A incredible L-25 AT acoustic! Great guitars! I miss some of them but you can't own everything. Good Luck!
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 I do like Yamaha guitars.Even with these being sold, I'm still going to have 14...SE 1220SE 700 ESE 612SE 603MAPAC 612vPAC 604wPAC 812sPAC 721 x2 (1 black, 1 red)PAC 921Weddington ClassicRGX 420 D6RGX 621dRGX 1212sJust can't bear to part with any of these. The SE 700 is being kept over the SE 312 simply because the 700 has an ebony fretboard...they both have equally great HB bridge, quack/notch, and single coil blues sounds.
ARM OF HAMER Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 The AES-FG Gambale had the best neck I think I have had out of the Yamaha guitars the Pacifica models 1412 and 1421 had the wide flat fingerboards................all these were just incredible guitars.I should have kept the Gambale but someone made me a offer I could not refuse he wanted it so bad.............good friend also so that tipped the sale.
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 I have never had a shot at a 14xx yet.But the 12xx I have are excellent...heck, even the SE 612 and 603 seem like professional quality guitars...just with a little less bling and flash than the 14xx levels...
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Going on eBay soon. HFC price: $200 + PP + $30 shipping Comes with the case shown, but no trem arm.
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Alvarez Dana Custom This is one of the guitars that is worth far more to me than it is worth on the open market. But everything else I have is even better...so what do I do? Sell it [shrug]. Great low action. Good tones from the triple coil. Some nice tele twang, good humbucker tone. Probably would best to swap out all the pickups for Seymour Duncans, taking care to maintain the current wiring, and you'd have a hot guitar that is good as anything. I don't have the ability to do that. The flame isn't strongly 3d, but I'm pretty sure it is an actual flame maple veneer, not a photoflame. MIK, but one of the better quality ones. There are no quality issues with this guitar at all. HFC Price: $200 + PP + $30 shipping Comes with the case shown.
DBraz Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I have had a go on one of those 1412's and they are very special. All the unusual laminates and the impeccable build quality make these pretty hard to find.
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 The RGX-TT is no longer available at HFC pricing. If you want it, gotta go to eBay and bid.
