FS: Early Roland Guitar Synth System (G-505 and GR-300)

I'm selling an early Roland 24-pin synth setup, which consists of a G-505 guitar and GR-300 analog synth floor unit. Thought I'd offer it here first, in the event that anyone is interested in this sort of stuff...

Details on the G-505 guitar:

- Made in 1982 by FujiGen Gakki (Greco, Ibanez, etc)

- Great player, and it shows... (has its share of player wear, dings, scuffs and scrapes)

- It had been retrofitted with a locking Kahler trem, and came to me w/o the bar (I'll include the Strat bar pictured, however)

- Neck is comfy medium-ish (C profile, 0.8" at the nut, 0.9" at the 12th, and 1 5/8" wide at the nut), and frets still have a lot of meat - no excessive divets or wear

- All pots, switches and synth control pads (to engage vibrato; adjacent to the bridge pickup) work; however, the tone pot is scratchy (I usually keep it dimed, so never bothered to fix)

- I did not get this one with a case or gigbag, and unfortunately do not have one to give. It will be packed extremely well despite this.

Details on the GR-300 synth:

- Everything functions as it should

- Tracks beautifully. The GR-300 units actually create the synth waveform from the guitar signal itself (via the hex pickup), and so there is no tracking latency at all

- Cosmetics are fair - has dings, scratches, etc (see photos)

- Recent service included recapping the power supply

- 24-pin cable is of the early (better) variety w/metal connector sleeves and latch

Purchase Options:

1) Buy the guitar itself. Given the cosmetics and lack of case, how about $450 shipped/paypal'd?

2) Buy the synth itself. Already have a 24-pin Roland guitar? Add a GR-300 for $450 shipped/paypal'd

3) Need the cable? These are expensive (sold a bunch for 200-250 on Ebay). For HFC, $170 shipped/paypal'd

4) Need to channel your inner Belew? Buy the whole damn thing for a mere $950 shipped

5) I also have a 24-pin to 13-pin converter (use the early guitars with the modern Roland synths). I might consider letting this go. $300 shipped

All prices assume shipping in the CONUS. International is possible - so talk to me. Happy to provide references from past transactions at HFC/elsewhere if desired.

Thanks!

Those are great fun!. I have an old 707/700 version. Have not fired it up in ages. Now I GOTTA get it out!

Nice!

I used to have most of 'em at one point, but gradually sold off the pieces I wasn't using much (the bass, US-2, bunch of extra cables, etc)

Still going to hang onto my G-808 doublecut guitar, GR-700, GR-100 (hex fuzz/filter/chorus box), and a 24-pin to 13-pin adapter unit (to interface the old guitar with the newer synth systems). I may re-buy a GR-300 in the future... but for now it will get sucked into the Hamer GAS fund :)

Bumping this up.

Any interest in just the G-505 guitar for $500 shipped/Paypal'd? I've decided to sell a keyboard instead (Waldorf Q, if anyone is interested...) and may just hang onto the GR-300 synth unit and cable...

I've got one of these (blue). VERY well built, excellent tone. Mine may have a bigger neck. As a strait up Strat, this is a strong guitar. GLWTS.

Cooler-than-a-keytar bump!

There's either another bass or something with P90(s) in my future (...or both), and so something's got to give way...

Added some purchase options:

1) Buy the guitar itself. Given the cosmetics and lack of case, how about $450 shipped/paypal'd?

2) Buy the synth itself. Already have a 24-pin Roland guitar? Add a GR-300 for $450 shipped/paypal'd

3) Need the cable? These are expensive (sold a bunch for 225-250 on Ebay).

Cheers
