jwhitcomb3 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 ---SOLD!!!--- ---SOLD!!!--- ---SOLD!!!--- This is a Danelectro Baritone guitar in Commie Red. Rosewood fingerboard. Body is made of...uh, dunno, whatever Danos are made of. Plywood and tape? I bought this new at least 10 years ago. Plays B to B. No case, but a serviceable gig bag. I will include an extra set of unused Elixir strings for it. Sounds great mostly clean with some reverb and vibrato. A great way to break out of a creativity funk. Also to funk out of a creativity break. Some scuffs on the back, but fully functional and very playable. Don't worry. The ugly guy in the pics is just my reflection, not a finish flaw. Asking $225 via Paypal, plus actual shipping. Thanks for looking
crunchee Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Very cool! Traditionally, I think Dano bodies had a wood or plywood frame with 'Masonite' (fiberboard, the same stuff that they used to cover the back of big console TV sets years ago) for the front and back, and I don't think that these are much different. I had a shorthorn bass RI a few years back and looked inside, and that's also what it looked like to me. I LOVE two of the color names that Dano used for the reissues, Commie Red (this one) and Limo Black, I'll bet somebody somewhere was kicking themselves for not thinking of those names first! GLWTS!
velorush Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 The frame on the originals was made of poplar.
stonge Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 If it's still available, I'll take it. Depending where you are located, I might be able to drive up on a weekend or meet you somewhere in between. Please let me know at [email protected]. Thanks.
