Dual Concentric Shaft Pots

I'd like mod my Tally to have separate vol and tone control for each pickup.  Without drilling the top, are dual-concentric pots the best (or only) option?  Does anyone have any experience with d-c pots and can share some experiences?

I think that would be the only way to go without drilling.  This will be fine for bedroom/basement playing, or if you "stand still" on stage, but when moving around, i found the DC pots a little "clumsy".  Especially if you do fast volume swells like this guy:

I vaguely remember Badger Dave did that to add V/T to a one-knob Cali I checked out on a Minnesota visit and he hit a home run doing so. The bottom, bigger of the knobs was the volume and the smaller top rotary was the tone IIRC.

I wanted to do that with my Eclipse. The pot I bought had a short treaded shaft so it didn't work. I could have remove some wood to make the body mounting hole thinner but didn't like that option. However, it works great on my PRS C22. There aren't a lot of knob options is the downside for me. I have the Fender dual chrome tele type knobs on the PRS, functionally great, adds the Hamer 3 knob control,   looks - not my favorite.

My take's on the knob aesthetics is the same.  There are guys making nice custom wooden knobs for the d-c shafts.
