value of Ludwig snare drum???

I am cleaning out the attic and trying to get rid of a Royce drum set that is gathering dust. It has a Ludwig snare, clear sides.  Has a green and blue label.   serial number 1703532

Is there some hidden value in that drum?  I am asking 150 for the kit.  I lent it to a drummer friend who used it as a practice kit at his band's rehearsal space.. He replaced the heads etc . Like new foot pedal I bought off a dealer on the HFC board.  Two toms, bass drum, throne, a Royce snare, a floor tom. Symbols are pure junk.. Extra heads. I have it on Craigslist.. I won't jack up the price if the Ludwig is a jewel.. I just want to avoid some low baller sneering at the snare.  Thanks

Holy cow. It looks like a 1970s Vistalite blue/olive label  Thanks for the help.

Now what to do?  It seems to be worth a lot more than I am asking for the whole package.  I seem to be in the same position where some CL seller learns he is asking less than FMV for his Hamer.

The acrylic/Plexiglas/Vistalite shells make for particularly good snare drums. They have the crack and projection of the metal snare drums without the incessant ring that is hard to control. Vistalite drums have been brought back into production and the eBay price on the new Vistalite snare drums is around $569. The older ones can be worth at least that much, depending on condition and probably color. Many of the 40+ yr-old Vistalite shells have cracks and crazing. If yours is clear and sound, it could fetch quite a bit of money.

Let's not forget that the '70s Vistalite drums have panache similar to '60s Hofner basses. Famous and iconic drummers played them, including John Bonham, though he evidently used the metal-shelled Supraphonic snare drum with it.

Thanks for all the input.     I have put this on hold 'til I can discuss it with a drummer at work.   I may post an eBay auction on eBay for the snare with a bunch of photos and then donate the rest to a local rec center or to some crazy parents of an adolescent.

Thanks to all for your input and advice.

I showed it to a drummer friend today and he said "it is a beautiful drum, probably all original."

I will have my kids clean up the metal.   Does anybody recommend a good cleaner?

The rest of the kit is going at a bargain price to somebody who wants it for his grandson.

My nephew used to use Scott's Gold on his Supraphonic 400 and other chrome hardware. Scott's Gold is intended for ungunking wood, but it seemed to work well on chrome-plated steel as well.
